In the 16th century, Trinidad was named after the city of La Santsima Trinidad (The Holy Trinity), which became a World Heritage Site after being listed by UNESCO. Trinidad is situated on Cuba’s south coast.

Originally produced in 1969, Trinidad dates back to the time of Habano. Like Cohiba, it was used for many years during the Cold War as a gift only for foreign diplomats. It wasn’t released to the public until 1998 and only in small quantities. There was only one size of Trinidad in the beginning: Fundadores.
